Front Cover
After viewing my front cover I came to the conclusion that the text did not suite my front cover and its genre. I then searched for a font that I could use to replace it.

Research- Double Page
Double Page
This double page spread for RWD magazine, I feel that this has a very good effect and look for the reader/audience. I like how the graphics of the band is spread throughout the two pages as one continuous pictures, with some text over the top. The colours work well because the colours of the clothes and the colour of the text is similar giving it a better effect than if they were different. The text going down the right hand side of the image is good because it is informative for the audience, it also contains a quote which can be seen easily as it is in a black text box.
If i were to emulate anything from this double page spread would be the colours linked to the graphics and the writing because I feel this has a very good effect on the audience. I would also try to use the layout, with the graphics covering both pages as a continuous image and have the text going down the side, i may also try to have the same quote box.
I have slected this image of a double page spread because I wanted to show aspects of a magazine I wouldn't like to be in mine. I think most if not all the colours used are far too bright and is hard for the audience to read. The text isn't easy to read and is set in columns uneffectively, the images used in this double page spread are all very similar but are not taken to a very professional standard as they are quite pixelated. However if I were to emulate anything from this double page spread would be the quotes used as I feel that this gives the magazine a more professional style and look for the reader. I also like the text in the black box at the top left hand corner, this makes it look more convincing as a music magazine.

Research-Contents
Research For Contents
I like this contents page of this magazine mainly for the title, feel that it is laid out in a very clever way which attracts the reader. The whole graphics and colours are very simple but seem to be effective, however I do feel that there is far too little information and text.
I were to emulate any components from this magazine I would used its style of the title and the colour. I would need to try and loyout my contents slightly more professionally in order for it to be easy to read. The lack of text and information makes it harder for the reader to understand, i think the use of a simple desgin by having the page number oppsite the page title which extremely effective.
This magazines layout I feel is very good becaus it is simple and easy to understand. The graphics and background share the same colour shceme, they both use black, whites and greys, i think this works espeically well because of the two coloured boxes in the top and bottom left corners. The sentence in quotation marks in the top right corner is positioned very well, without it i think their would be too many bare patches on the page. Even though there is little text featured on this contents page i think it makes up for it by have such good posiotion of the text going down the side. It shares the featured bands in the magazine going down the side and lists what page numbers they start at. I hope to emulate this magazine the most becuase it seems to have a professional look about it, I want to share the same colour scheme from my graphics to my text, I may include more information about the magazine with more page numbers, but i will have the same layout as this by having the text going down the side and one or two boxes of coloured text in the corners.
This image I have found would be a contents page I wouldn't like to emulate because i feel that is far too dull and boring and that it wouldnt attract the attention of the audience. The thing I mainly dislike is the graphics because it dosn't seem to have any connection to the type of magazine and the resolution gives the contents page a less professtional look. However if I were to emulate anything from this contents page it would be the colour scheme of the text. I think it works well to have the page number and title in a different colour to the information below.

Magazine Front Cover
Oringinal Image:
My front cover started out as this image I had taken at Folly Farm,Stowey. I first used LAB colour to increase the colours brightness, then i used the Sponge tool to take the colour out of everyone but the person. I was able to use the colour selection tool to select the red in the middle of the shirt and make it more vibrant. After all ths I then selected a section of the leaves from the floor and pasted them into the bare places on the bridge, then using the Plaster tool I eased the bolts on the the bridge.
End Image:
I believe that the background picture itself was taken to a good standard and quality, however I feel that the fonts and font colour should be changed in the future.
