This is the trailer for the recent horror thriller House at the End of the Street, when I watched this trailer for the first time I was interested and wanted to watch the film, so I feel it is appealing to the audience. However I feel that my want to watch the film was only because of the plot, I felt that the trailer was poorly put together and hard for the audience to follow. Due to the fact that the trailer suddenly opens with action straight away and begins to go back in time it is hard for the audience to concentrate on what is going on.
If I were to make this trailer again I would make it more in a chronological order to make it easier for the audience to follow, I feel that if the audience are able to understand the trailer more, the more likely they are going to be interested in it or watch it. I would also like to be slightly more subtle in the plot; I would put less action in the trailer in order to leave more to the imagination of the audience.
However I did like some techniques used in this trailer, the cut through black between scenes is used very effectively as well as the sounds in the clips. The snappy fast but short sounds are used a lot with the actions that appear on screen, these techniques are ones that I may consider using in my horror trailer.
